Steamed Broccoli With Parmesan - {Parmigiana Di Broccoli} Recipe - Cooking Index
Steaming vegetables brings out their true flavor, and, happily, no added fat is necessary for the cooking process. All vegetables lend themselves to this method of cooking. Using an automatic electrical steamer certainly helps control the steaming time and takes the guesswork out of the job.
Type: Vegetables4 cups | 584g / 20oz | Broccoli florets |
2 teaspoons | 10ml | Grated lemon rind |
1 teaspoon | 5ml | Garlic clove - minced (small) |
Salt - to taste | ||
Freshly-ground black pepper - to taste | ||
2 tablespoons | 30ml | Freshly-grated Parmesan cheese |
Arrange broccoli in steamer basket. Sprinkle with lemon rind and garlic.
Place steamer basket over base of steamer with water as recommended in manufacturer's directions, or over pan of boiling water.
Cover and steam for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender-crisp and still bright green. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Serve immediately, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
